We are Dave and Melissa Jones, a husband and wife photography team based in Rochester, NY. We photograph weddings, engagements, and families. We love dark roasted coffee, bacon, Hefeweizen beer, the Rocky Mountains, the Carribbean Sea, hiking, snowboarding and our adorable dog, Bella.

We want to hear about love. Any kind of love. True love, unadulterated love, unconditional love, love that makes you weak in the knees, or that makes your heart skip a beat.  Think about a couple you know who would love to have their portrait taken together, or a couple who could not otherwise afford it, or is normally too busy to have time to themselves, etc…

In the spirit of our favorite Hallmark Holiday known as Valentines Day, Empire West Photo is offering a photo session giveaway. We’re going to do a free one hour loveshoot (Value $275) for one deserving couple to be announced on … you guessed it, February 14! What is a loveshoot? It is a photo session that celebrates the couple by capturing the essence of their relationship and tells their story.

If you think you’d like to enter to win a free session with Empire West Photo here are the giveaway rules:

* You can enter once by filling out this form. Please tell us why you or the couple that you are nominating deserve a free loveshoot. The winning couple will be featured on our blog.
* They must live in the Rochester area or be willing to travel to it.
* The session must be used before the end of May 2010.
* Entry is closed at 7P Eastern Time, next Saturday. We’ll announce the winner on Sunday, February 14th – Valentines Day.

All entries will be considered with the most deserving/heart tugging entry being decided by Dave and Melissa. What you will win:

*One hour photo session with at least 2 locations
*CD with at least 10 high-resolution images
*One 8×10 and two 5×7 prints

David and Ann were married at Glendoveers on 01-22-10. The date was chosen carefully to honor the groom’s parents who were also married on a palindromic date: 07-11-70. (Palindrome : read the same forward as backward.)

It was such an honor to get to know these two and to be a part of their wedding day. We are so lucky to have such kind and genuine clients and these two are no exception.

Originally, they envisioned their wedding to be on the beach of Key West. However, they didn’t want to leave any of their loved ones out, so they brought the beach to all of us on a freezing cold day in January. Not only was the decor bright and colorful, but the warmth that all of their friends and family brought to the event was enough to make us thankful to witness such love and joy.

What a great evening! David and Ann, thank you so much for having us. We love the fact that you are crazy about each other and wish you many many years of happiness!

Dave and I met with Laura from Better Together Events today and I am super excited about working together with her on future weddings and projects. Laura is a full time wedding coordinator and she is basically capable of managing everything under the sun. Seriously, if any future brides are thinking about hiring a wedding coordinator, don’t hesitate to contact Laura. She can give you inspiring ideas, handle tedious details and keep everything on schedule, all without breaking a sweat!

I love her recent blog featuring these fantastic hangers from Etsy. This is a great detail to think about to make your wedding photos extra special.
