I’m going to make this short and sweet so I can seize the day. This weather is gorgeous and I have the day off! Plus, Bella wants to go play frisbee!

This time of the year is my favorite by far, the colors are amazing.

Eight years ago today, Dave and I met and fell in love, down on Oxford St. when the magnolias were in bloom. To celebrate, we took a drive down to our old stomping grounds. The magnolias are just starting to emerge. This time next week they will be out in full force! Spring is here and love is in the air my friends, can’t you feel it?

We went to the zoo last weekend to see the baby meercats, but it was the baboons that really captivated us.

The way they interacted with each other was a joy to watch. The elders were grooming each other and the babies were playing and feeding each other. I could have sat there all day watching them.

On a cold winter day a few months ago I was wishing it was nice enough to go out and shoot with my new Canon 50D. It got me to thinking about what I really enjoy about photography, and what got me started. I’ve always had a passion for automobiles ever since my collection of hot wheels as a kid.

When I started shooting it was only natural that I started taking photos of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. It made perfect sense to put my two passions together.

Here is an example of a photo I took  about 8 years ago with my very first  digital camera, a 3mp olympus that was a gift from my father.

With the growth of empire west photo I haven’t had time for an auto shoot in a couple of years, so my first goal this spring was to go back to shooting cars.

We have done two shoots so far with great results! With our new canon 50D, and canon 5D in hand we set out to make the past a part of our future.
