Keeping in pace with the last few weeks www.empirewestphoto.com had over 1,400 visitors last week. The numbers just keep getting higher!
So keep us in mind for next event, no matter what it is.
Most of you know I work for R News as a Satellite/Live truck operator, and my truck has been in need of repair. I won’t bore you with all the technical stuff, but the truck needed to be driven to AVLtech in Asheville, NC in order to be fixed.
So Tuesday morning I packed up the SAT truck, grabbed my camera, and headed toward NC. This brought me through Buffalo, NY, Erie, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, and into West Virginia.
The first night I stayed in Fayetteville, WV, home of the new river gorge, and the famous Rt. 19 new river gorge bridge. The bridge and overlook was a great way to finally stretch my legs after a 9-hour drive.
Then I made it to the “Quality Inn”……remember when you were a kid, and your parents told you not to say anything if you didn’t have anything good to say?
After a few hours of sleep I was back on the road by 6AM Wednesday. This was a bit of a shorter drive about four and a half hours, and brought me out of WV, into Roanoke Virginia, through some really cool tunnels, Bristol TN, ending up in Asheville NC.
Work on the truck began right away.
I spent most of my time at the AVL shop learning what I could about the satellite dish on my truck.
The AVL shop was lacated in the heart of the art district in Asheville, and I took about an hour to walk around to check out all the galleries and workshops.
