I had the pleasure of second shooting with local wedding photographer Heather Mckay at this Rochester NY Indian wedding.
This moment is an Indian tradition where the bride’s family steals the grooms shoes during the wedding and he must pay to get them back. In this instance the brides brother was the mastermind in the theft of the shoes as he and other family members put the plan into action. This included several well timed throws and full out sprinting from the mandap (Indian wedding ceremony arch) successfully completing the shoe caper! In this image you can see the groom paying the bride’s family to return his shoes.
